Tłumaczenie popularnonaukowe na temat ideałów kobiecości w epoce wiktoriańskiej – przegląd wybranych technik wraz z uzasadnieniem przydatności przekładu Filipow, Elżbieta The paper aims at (1) presenting several difficulties that may be encountered in the process of translation of a popular-science text about history, and (2) giving reasons why this kind of a text is worth to pay attention to. I assume that the translation may serve an educational purpose as an example text used in teaching future translators and developing their translation skills. The translated version of the text into Polish may be a source of information in the field of social history, and more precisely in the field of research in the history of women in Victorian era. The author of the article on ideals of womanhood in the Victorian Britain is Lynn Abrams – a historian at the University of Glasgow. The article was published in 2001 on the BBC website that deals with popularizing the history of Great Britain. I intend to disseminate this text in popular-science magazine that deals with social history or gender history as a source of knowledge about social, cultural and political living conditions of women in Victorian era.; Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie przykładowych trudności, jakie mogą się wiązać z tłumaczeniem tekstu popularnonaukowego o tematyce historycznej oraz podanie powodów, dla których tego rodzaju tekst może zasługiwać na uwagę polskich czytelników. Zakładam, że samo tłumaczenie może pełnić funkcję edukacyjną jako przykładowy tekst wykorzystywany w szkoleniu z doskonalenia warsztatu z zakresu przekładu osób przygotowujących się do pracy w zawodzie tłumacza pisemnego. Sam zaś tekst udostępniony polskiemu czytelnikowi może stanowić źródło informacji z zakresu historii społecznej, a dokładnie badań nad historią kobiet w epoce wiktoriańskiej. Autorką tekstu o ideałach kobiecości w wiktoriańskiej Brytanii jest Lynn Abrams. Artykuł historyczki wykładającej obecnie na Uniwersytecie w Glasgow ukazał się w 2001 roku na stronie internetowej BBC poświęconej popularyzowaniu wiedzy o historii Wielkiej Brytanii. Zamierzam rozpowszechnić ten tekst jako źródło wiedzy o społecznych, kulturowych i politycznych warunkach życia kobiet w epoce wiktoriańskiej w czasopiśmie popularnonaukowym zajmującym się tematyką historii społecznej lub historii gender.

International and/or national philosophical terms in the domain of philosophy Ikere, Zaiga Philosophy as a universal system of knowledge and the main corpus of the philosophical terminology consists of international terms. There are cases, however, when philosophers choose to, create a native word instead of employing a wellknown international term. The term Meddelelse, for instance, was introduced by the Danish philosopher Soren Kierkegaard. According to him, different aspects of communication are included in this concept to be denominated by the Danish word Meddelelse. Another example in this respect is the national term introduced by the Latvian philosopher Rihards Kūlis for the international term nacionālā identitāte. Contemporary philosophers tend to claim that philosophy does not belong only to the elitist part of the society. If such is the case, the philosophers try to facilitate the comprehension process for the native readers in order to ensure a deeper understanding of definite notions. Hence they endevour to accommodate their writing in the way their readers could fully grasp the meaning of the intended message.

Reciclaje de palabras. Las repe iciones en la prosa de Bruno Schulz Galant, Barbara Miklaszewski stated humorously that while reading Schulz you may come to the conclusion that the author wrote two o three sentences drafting a few situations which he then modified and repeated in his shirt stories. In order to verify if the same stylistic effect is present in the Spanish translations I will analyse the excerpts which contain figures of speech such as polyptoton, ploce, anastrophe and figura etimologica, as well as the so-called “situational rhymes”, i.e. the use of similar phrasing to describe the same or different situations.; Miklaszewski comentó humorísticamente que al leer a Schulz se puede llegar a la conclusión de que dicho autor escribió tan solo dos o tres oraciones, trazando así un par de situaciones que luego modificó y repitió en sus relatos. Con la finalidad de comprobar si el mismo efecto estilístico se conserva en las traducciones espanolas, analizaré los fragmentos que incluyen las figuras retóricas de repetición (políptoton, ploce, anástrofe y figura etimológica), así como las llamadas “rimas situacionales”, es decir, el uso de expresiones similares para describir tanto las mismas como diferentes situaciones.
