The "Bulletin of the Section of Logic" (BSL) is a quarterly peerreviewed journal published with the support of the Lodz University Press. The BSL was founded in 1972 by Ryszard Wójcicki, Head of the Section of Logic of the Polish Academy of Sciences, then based in Wrocław, as a newsletterjournal designed for the exchange of scientific results among members of the Section with their national and international partners and colleagues. The first editorinchief of the BSL was Jan Zygmunt, who supervised the editorial process of the first six issues of the journal. In 1973 the role was taken over by Marek Tokarz. From 1975 to 2018 the journal was managed and edited by Grzegorz Malinowski. In 1992 the Department of Logic at the University of Łódź took over the publication from the Polish Academy of Sciences changing its policy into regular peerreviewed journal. The aim of the Bulletin is to act as a forum for the prompt wide dissemination of original, significant results in logic through rapid publication. The BSL welcomes especially contributions dealing directly with logical calculi, their methodology, application and algebraic interpretations.

Tableaux for some deontic logics with the explicit permission operator
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20220623)In this paper we present a tableau system for deontic logics with the operator of explicit permission. By means of this system the decidability of the considered logics can be proved. We will sketch how these logics are ...
A Paradox for the Existence Predicate
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20220610)In this paper, a paradox is shown to arise in the context of classical logic from prima facie highly plausible assumptions for the existence predicate as applied to definite descriptions. There are several possibilities ...
A Classification of Improper Inference Rules
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20220623)In the natural deduction system for classical propositional logic given by G. Gentzen, there are some inference rules with assumptions discharged by the rule. D. Prawitz calls such inference rules improper as opposed to ...
A Benchmark Similarity Measures for Fermatean Fuzzy Sets
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20220608)In this paper, we utilized triangular conorms (Snorm). The essence of using Snorm is that the similarity order does not change using different norms. In fact, we are investigating for a new conception for calculating the ...
A Variant of Material Connexive Logic
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20211109)The relationship between formal (standard) logic and informal (commonsense, everyday) reasoning has always been a hot topic. In this paper, we propose another possible way to bring it up inspired by connexive logic. Our ...
Tolerating Inconsistencies: A Study of Logic of Moral Conflicts
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20220607)Moral conflicts are the situations which emerge as a response to deal with conflicting obligations or duties. An interesting case arises when an agent thinks that two obligations A and B are equally important, but yet fails ...
Proof Compression and NP Versus PSPACE II: Addendum
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20220107)In our previous work we proved the conjecture NP = PSPACE by advanced proof theoretic methods that combined Hudelmaier’s cutfree sequent calculus for minimal logic (HSC) with the horizontal compressing in the corresponding ...
Models of Bounded Arithmetic Theories and Some Related Complexity Questions
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20220607)In this paper, we study bounded versions of some modeltheoretic notions and results. We apply these results to the context of models of bounded arithmetic theories as well as some related complexity questions. As an ...
Analytic NonLabelled ProofSystems for Hybrid Logic: Overview and a couple of striking facts
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20220107)This paper is about nonlabelled proofsystems for hybrid logic, that is, proofsystems where arbitrary formulas can occur, not just satisfaction statements. We give an overview of such proofsystems, focusing on analytic ...
Weakly Free Multialgebras
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20210823)In abstract algebraic logic, many systems, such as those paraconsistent logics taking inspiration from da Costa's hierarchy, are not algebraizable by even the broadest standard methodologies, as that of Blok and Pigozzi. ...
A Sequent Systems without Improper Derivations
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20211014)In the natural deduction system for classical propositional logic given by G. Gentzen, there are some inference rules with assumptions discharged by the rule. D. Prawitz calls such inference rules improper, and others ...
Sequent Calculi for Orthologic with Strict Implication
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20211109)In this study, new sequent calculi for a minimal quantum logic (\(\bf MQL\)) are discussed that involve an implication. The sequent calculus \(\bf GO\) for \(\bf MQL\) was established by Nishimura, and it is complete with ...
A Note on the Intuitionistic Logic of False Belief
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20210901)In this paper we analyse logic of false belief in the intuitionistic setting. This logic, studied in its classical version by Steinsvold, Fan, Gilbert and Venturi, describes the following situation: a formula $\varphi$ is ...
Ternary Relational Semantics for the Variants of BN4 and E4 which Contain Routley and Meyer's Logic B
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20210902)Six interesting variants of the logics BN4 and E4—which can be considered as the 4valued logics of the relevant conditional and (relevant) entailment, respectively—were previously developed in the literature. All these ...
An Epistemological Study of Theory Change
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20211109)Belief Revision is a wellestablished field of research that deals with how agents rationally change their minds in the face of new information. The milestone of Belief Revision is a general and versatile formal framework ...
An Arithmetically Complete Predicate Modal Logic
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20210823)This paper investigates a firstorder extension of GL called \(\textup{ML}^3\). We outline briefly the history that led to \(\textup{ML}^3\), its key properties and some of its toolbox: the \emph{conservation theorem}, its ...
On Complete Representations and Minimal Completions in Algebraic Logic, Both Positive and Negative Results
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20210721)Fix a finite ordinal \(n\geq 3\) and let \(\alpha\) be an arbitrary ordinal. Let \(\mathsf{CA}_n\) denote the class of cylindric algebras of dimension \(n\) and \(\sf RA\) denote the class of relation algebras. Let ...
A Sound Interpretation of Leśniewski's Epsilon in Modal Logic KTB
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20211109)In this paper, we shall show that the following translation \(I^M\) from the propositional fragment \(\bf L_1\) of Leśniewski's ontology to modal logic \(\bf KTB\) is sound: for any formula \(\phi\) and \(\psi\) of \(\bf ...
The (Greatest) Fragment of Classical Logic that Respects the VariableSharing Principle (in the FMLAFMLA Framework)
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20210527)We examine the set of formulatoformula valid inferences of Classical Logic, where the premise and the conclusion share at least a propositional variable in common. We review the fact, already proved in the literature, ...
On the Category of EQalgebras
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 20210120)In this paper, we studied the category of EQalgebras and showed that it is complete, but it is not cocomplete, in general. We proved that multiplicatively relative EQalgebras have coequlizers and we calculated coproduct ...
