Rewitalizacja historycznego centrum Łęczycy
Streszczenie
Łęczyca is a small town(15 000 inh.) in central Poland. As most of Polish small towns it was in permanent crisis during last 60 year. There were identified main problems connected with spatial organization in
historical center: bad condition of buildings, streets and places, escape of important shops,
restaurants from town center, lack of service
firms for tourists (cafés,restaurants, shops with souvenirs
etc.), town hall in very bad state. Town Park, directly connected with oldest part of
town was also neglected. Realization of program of renovation and regeneration of the whole
“old town” embraced modernization of more than 40 buildings, most of streets in this area
and market-place also, and arrangement of the park, has been successful. Attractive shops,
restaurants and other services came back to the historical center. Local authority opened tour-
ist information center, so public space in this area is gradually more and more attractive for inhabitants and tourists
