| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this article is assessment of the health care system efficiency in the European
Union. To estimate the efficiency the Data Envelopment Analysis method was used. Data was
collected from OECD data base and the period of 1998 – 2005 was finally analyzed. The research
covers 18 health care systems in EU. The results show the average efficiency of analyzed health
care systems increased and the average efficiency of the Polish health care system seems
to be closed to the average efficiency of analyzed health care systems. Moreover, insurance type
of health care systems are more efficient than national health service type of health care systems. | pl_PL |
