The aim of study was determined the hierarchy of motives which guided the unemployed to take training. It turns out that the main motive was to enhance the employability skills and wid- ening. However, detailed analysis of the results pointed to some differences in approach to training the unemployed, depending on region, gender, age, education, place of residence and time spent unemployed. Part of the observed differences are statistically significant. Measurable effect of training should be to find work for unemployed. Among the unemployed respondents were undergoing training to work less than 40%. It should be noted, however, that those who have found the vast majority of jobs in the profession has connected with the subject of training. This allows to recognize that the training effectively contribute to the fight against unemployment.pl_PL
