Abstract

Głównym celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie i przeanalizowanie aspektów kształtujących kulturę strategiczną Litwy, determinującą kierunki prowadzenia polityki bezpieczeństwa. II Republika Litewska, od początku swego istnienia kontynuująca w pełni dziedzictwo historyczne międzywojennej Litwy, dystansując się od Polski i szerszej współpracy regionalnej, musiała stawić czoła czynnikom nieaktualnym od 2014 r. Równolegle przy zmieniającym się krajobrazie politycznym w Europie po wybuchu wojny na wschodzie Ukrainy dokonuje się zwrot w relacjach z Polską oraz przewartościowanie realizowanych działań na arenie międzynarodowej.

The main objective of this article is to present and analyze the aspects shaping Lithuania’s strategic culture, which determines the directions of its security policy implementation. The Second Republic of Lithuania, which from its inception fully upheld the historical legacy of interwar Lithuania in maintaining distance from Poland and broader regional cooperation, has had to contend with factors that have been outdated since 2014. Concurrently, amid the shifting political landscape in Europe following the outbreak of the war in eastern Ukraine, it is effecting a turnaround in relations with Poland and a reappraisal of the actions pursued on the international stage.
