Pułapki socjologii reportażowej

Abstract

The article introduces the idea of reportage sociology, undertaking the description – willingly employing the perspective of social actors – of new or unusual social phenomena, not caring about their social scope or significance. The content and workshop characteristics of reportage sociology are indicated, as well as the assumptions underlying this way of doing sociology. A critical discussion of the premises and features of reportage sociology is based on their relations with the subject (proposals of P. Sztompka and A. Giddens) and tasks (the position of E. Wnuk-Lipiński and A.Podgórecki) of sociology in general. Differences between reportage sociology and other variants of practicing the discipline, such as “hot topic” sociology, veranda sociology or studies of social innovations are indicated. The relationship of reportage sociology and sociography is also considered. The article concludes with an enumeration of the weaknesses and circumstances favoring the development of the discussed trend.

W artykule jest wprowadzane pojęcie socjologii reportażowej, podejmującej się opisu – chętnie z uwzględnieniem perspektywy aktorów społecznych – nowych lub niezwykłych zjawisk społecznych, bez przywiązywania wagi do ich społecznego zasięgu lub znaczenia. Wskazane są właściwości treściowe i warsztatowe socjologii reportażowej oraz założenia leżące u podstaw tego sposobu uprawiania socjologii. Krytyczne omówienie przesłanek oraz cech socjologii reportażowej opiera się na odniesieniu ich do ustaleń odnośnie przedmiotu (propozycje P. Sztompki i A. Giddensa) i zadań (stanowisko E. Wnuka-Lipińskiego i A. Podgóreckiego) socjologii w ogóle. Wskazane są różnice pomiędzy socjologią reportażową a innymi, częściowo pokrewnymi, wariantami uprawiania dyscypliny, takimi jak: socjologia gorąca (oraz tzw. disastser researches), socjologia werandowa czy studia nad innowacjami i reformami społecznymi. Rozpatrywane są też relacje socjologii reportażowej i socjografii. Artykuł kończy wyliczenie słabości oraz okoliczności sprzyjających rozwojowi nurtu, którego wyodrębnienie w dyskursie socjologicznym jest proponowane.
