| dc.description.abstract | W przedstawianej monografii autor analizuje dramat powstały w estetyce francuskiego teatru sprzeciwu społecznego, który tworzony był przez zaangażowanych politycznie pisarzy na przełomie XIX i XX wieku. Niniejsza książka poświęcona jest utworowi (L’Abbé Prout) Ojczulek Puściwiatr (1902) autorstwa Paula Ransona, który został po raz pierwszy przełożony na język polski. W dramacie tym, pisarz i malarz związany z nabistami podejmuje się krytyki Kościoła katolickiego reprezentowanego przez tytułowego Puściwiatra, który swoim zachowaniem zaprzecza wartościom, jakie krzewi wśród swoich wiernych. Ranson kreśli postać księdza odważnie ośmieszając jego wady i przywary takie jak opilstwo, obżarstwo czy rozwiązłość seksualna. Ta bezwzględna farsa, nawiązując do skatologicznego języka Alfreda Jarry’ego, wpisuje się swą poetyką w tradycję średniowiecznego teatru, który również bezlitośnie obnażał perwersyjne zachowania wielmoży. Także Ranson, oprócz wspomnianego kleru, wymierza ostrze satyry w głównych reprezentantów władzy (arystokracja, generalicja, itd.) | pl_PL |
| dc.description.abstract | In the presented monograph, the author analyzes drama created within the aesthetics of French social protest theater, which was crafted by politically engaged writers at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. This book is dedicated to the work L’Abbé Prout (1902), known as Father Windbag, by Paul Ranson, which has been translated into Polish for the first time (Ojczulek Puściwiatr). In this drama, the writer and painter associated with the Nabis group critiques the Catholic Church, represented by the titular Windbag, whose behavior contradicts the values he preaches to his followers. Ranson boldly sketches the character of the priest, mocking his vices and flaws, such as drunkenness, gluttony, and sexual promiscuity. This ruthless farce, using scatological language akin to Alfred Jarry’s, aligns with the poetics of medieval theater, which also ruthlessly exposed the perverse behaviors of the nobility.
