Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises with Foreign Ownership in Poland

The aim of this paper is to present determinants ofthe internationalisation processes of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and to examine activity of SMEs with foreign ownership in Poland. SMEs are exposed to strong
competitive pressures, when barriers to goods, services and capital movements disappear within the integrated area. A common policy towards SMEs and national policies strengthen competitive advantages of domestic firms. At the
same time, countries attract foreign direct investors, both large firms and SMEs, to their economies. The paper discusses same characteristics of foreign owned SMEs' behaviour in the Polish economy.
