This paper explores J. S. Adams’ inequity theory. It discusses fundamental concepts, the definition of the sense of equity and inequity, possible consequences and methods of coping with them. It elaborates on the problems connected with measurement methods used to evaluate the sense of inequity as well as possible practical applications of the theory. The paper comprises also a review of the most important research in the field.en
