dc.description.abstract	Płodność poniżej prostej zastępowalności pokoleń, obserwowana w latach 70. i 80. w niektórych krajach rozwiniętych, stała się w XXI w. zjawiskiem globalnym. W 2019 roku wystąpiła w 93 krajach, których mieszkańcy stanowili blisko połowę ludności świata. Syntetyczny opis tej zmiany i rekapitulacja badań empirycznych oraz najważniejszych koncepcji teoretycznych uzupełnia omówienie zmiany paradygmatu badań demograficznych w końcu XX w. Polegała ona na przejściu od badań struktur do badań procesów, od poziomu makro do poziomu mikro, od analizy do syntezy oraz od pewności do niepewności przy rosnącym znaczeniu perspektywy przebiegu życia jako podejścia badawczego. Ta zmiana przyczyniła się do rozwoju badań demograficznych w mikroskali, w tym zwłaszcza nad zachowaniami dotyczącymi rodziny. Uwagę przykuwają szczególnie dwa badania międzynarodowe: Family and Fertility Survey (FFS), realizowane w latach 90., oraz Generations and Gender Programme (GGP) zainicjowany w 2000 roku. Nowe wyzwania badawcze dotyczące zmian płodności, zarówno w wymiarze teoretycznym, jak i empirycznym, związane są m.in. z rosnącym znaczeniem niepewności ekonomicznej i pojawieniem się tzw. uogólnionej niepewności. Nowa runda GPP rozpoczęta w 2020 roku jest odpowiedzią na te wyzwania.	pl_PL
