dc.description.abstract	This story describes a seasoned professor’s attempts to take stock of her academic life. The main voice is that of the professor as she lives, works, and considers what she cares about. The cacophony of other sounds comes from the questioning voices inside her head, blended with the imagined voices of her dogs Zen and Buddha and the real voices of colleagues and her partner Art. The author examines the ups and downs of her academic life and how stress, interruption, caring, and committed intensity play out. She provides her story as a mindful revision of how she wants to live and to stimulate readers to reflect on their own lives.	pl_PL

Jest autorką m.in. książek “The Ethnographic I: A Methodological Novel about Autoethnography” (2004) i “Revision: Autoethnographic Reflection on Life and Work” (2009) oraz współredaktorką (razem z Brydie-Leigh Barleet) pracy “Music Autoethnographies: Making Autoethnography Sing/Making Music Personal”. Opublikowała ponadto wiele artykułów, a także rozdziałów i osobistych opowieści mieszczących się w interpretatywnym nurcie badań jakościowych. W ostatnim czasie skupia się na problematyce wywiadu interaktywnego i współświadczenia z ludźmi, którzy przeżyli Holokaust. Profesor Ellis z radością pragnie donieść, że od czasu napisania „Mknącego pociągu” jej życie nie jest już tak bardzo stresujące, jak miało to miejsce wcześniej; sporo czasu poświęca teraz na odwiedzanie i słuchanie świadków Zagłady, spacerowanie z psami po lesie i pełne bycie ze swoim partnerem, Artem. Ciągle stara się również walczyć z uzależnieniem od Internetu i wielozadaniowością.	pl_PL
