Polityka, filozofia i Hannah Arendt. O koncepcji polityczności opartej na wielości

Abstract

Although Hannah Arendt noticed problem of the emancipation of women, she also openly admitted that it does not concern herself. She was and still remains one of the few women involved in political thought, forming theories and defining new directions of thought and action in the public sphere. She refused to call her a philosopher; she preferred to describe herself as a political theorist. Where this resistance comes from and what is the difference between philosophy and political theory? Answer for these questions can be found in Arendt’s concept of politics based on plurality, from which is not so far to feminism as it might initially seem.

Hannah Arendt, choć dostrzegała problem emancypacji kobiet, to także otwarcie przyznawała, iż nie dotyczy on jej samej. A jednak była i wciąż pozostaje jedną z nielicznych kobiet zajmujących się myślą polityczną, tworzącą teorie i wyznaczającą nowe kierunki myślenia i działania w sferze publicznej. Odżegnywała się także od nazywania ją filozofką, wolała określać się mianem teoretyczki polityki. Skąd ten opór i czym według niej, filozofia od teorii polityki się różni? Odpowiedź na te pytania pomoże uzyskać tytułowa Arendtowska koncepcja polityczności opartej na wielości, od której nie tak znów daleko do feminizmu jak mogłoby się początkowo wydawać.
