Abstract

Taking into account the situation in Poland ’s economy the income policy should be focussed on realization of the following functions in the coming years: 1) restoring economic equilibrium 2) stimulating all activities aimed at increased effectiveness; 3) safeguarding the most important welfare issues. The first function is the most significant, because it largely determines accomplishment of the remaining functions. The most important directions in a desirable evolution of the income policy should be considered; increased differentiation of wages, adoption of a more selective policy of distributing welfare benefirs, and imposition of taxes on personal incomes of the population.
