Когнитивный аспект новообразований украинского языка со времен независимости

Abstract

The study of the world’s linguistic image, the multiplicity of its fragments and peculiarities, presented in modern linguistic literature has been actualized in the recent decade. World image represents the fundamental constituent of the culture phenomena and it is realized through thinking and language, by means of which the knowledge, generated by ethnic experience, about surrounding world is formed and spread. Due to language culture carries out one of its most important functions, which lies in giving names to all things existing in the surrounding world. These constituents of the world build its mosaic model. Let us examine the fragment of the national model of the world image in the cognitive aspect in terms of Ukrainian neologisms. Among word formations the most frequent are names, related to political situation of the country, people’s characteristics, their names according to chosen specialties. Diminutive and augmentative derivatives in the majority of cases have neglectful features. Fast development of society, facilitation of modern human life pace have led to the formation of many new words related to women’s specialties based on the men’s. The analyzed lexemes in the modern Ukrainian language are more often formed by means of prefixes, suffixes, words addition and stems. The results of the research open the possibility of further study of neologisms’ development in the cognitive aspect.
