<title>Samotności Autora, czyli samotność jako warunek zaistnienia procesu twórczego</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11089/59392</link>
<description>Samotności Autora, czyli samotność jako warunek zaistnienia procesu twórczego
Skowroński, Rafał
The article reflects on the importance of the phenomenon of solitude for the creative process and reviews literary works and artistic biographies in search for the the experience of loneliness. The starting point is a reflection on linguistic definitions of the phenomenon and attempts to categorize variants of loneliness and the interdisciplinary nature of the phenomenon in monoseology (the science of loneliness). In the second half of the article an attempt is made to create a model of the presence of solitude in the creative process in relation to Nikolai Berdyaev’s logical model of loneliness and previously categorized types of loneliness. The first goal of the article is to distinguish different types of loneliness affecting artists and the role of this phenomenon in the creative process; the second goal is to outline the background of the essence of the experience of loneliness; the third goal is to point out the connection between the conscious experience of loneliness and autothematism.; Artykuł zawiera rozważania o znaczeniu zjawiska samotności dla procesu twórczego oraz przegląd utworów literackich i biografii artystycznych pod kątem obecności doświadczenia samotności. Punkt wyjścia stanowią refleksje nad językoznawczymi definicjami zjawiska i próbami kategoryzacji wariantów samotności i interdyscyplinarności zjawiska w monoseologii (nauce o samotności). W drugiej połowie artykułu podjęta została próba stworzenia modelu obecności samotności w procesie twórczym w odniesieniu do logicznego modelu samotności Mikołaja Bierdiajewa i wcześniej skategoryzowanych typów samotności. Pierwszym celem artykułu jest wyróżnienie różnych rodzajów samotności dotykających artystów i roli tego fenomenu w procesie twórczym; celem drugim – zarysowanie tła istoty doświadczenia samotności; trzecim celem – wskazanie powiązania uświadomionego doświadczenia samotności i zabiegów autotematycznych.

<title>Krzywda bez szkody (1726) Karola Piotra Sawickiego. Rekonesans</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11089/59391</link>
<description>Krzywda bez szkody (1726) Karola Piotra Sawickiego. Rekonesans
Prabucki, Krzysztof
The main focus of this study is to present the work of a little-known author Karol Piotr Sawicki SJ (1661–1733) and to place his collection in the context of late Baroque emblematics. The Jesuit is the author of an emblematic cycle entitled Krzywda bez szkody (1726), which is an extensive series of emblems, written on commission for Hetman Stanisław Mateusz Rzewuski (1662–1728). The essence of the issue addressed is an attempt to show the author’s individual artistic skills, an analysis of the semantics of the cycle’s construction, and the placement of this work in the context of genological research (emblems, stemma, impresa), especially with regard to reflections on the boundary between word and image. Krzywda bez szkody was, as can be assumed, developed on the basis of an existing graphic model. The figure of the typographer (Ignacy Herlacher) who probably contributed to the creation of the collection has been identified. In constructing his panegyric narrative, the author sometimes refers to the universal meaning of the image of a horseshoe outside the heraldic context. Attention was also drawn to the presence of conceptual mechanisms in the Jesuit’s cycle.; Głównym przedmiotem refleksji niniejszego opracowania jest prezentacja twórczości mało znanego autora Karola Piotra Sawickiego SJ (1661–1733) oraz umieszczenie jego zbioru w kontekście późnobarokowej emblematyki.

<title>Leopolda Tyrmanda mechanizmy reprodukowania „duszy miasta” w słowie</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11089/59390</link>
<description>Leopolda Tyrmanda mechanizmy reprodukowania „duszy miasta” w słowie
Ścibisz, Martyna
In his essay Lesseps życzliwy Warszawie, Leopold Tyrmand proposed the figure of the “spirit of the city”. As he himself claimed, this category can be reproduced in song, painting, and, most importantly in the case of a writer, in writing. This invites a close examination of the representations of real urban space present in his texts – including Dziennik 1954, essays published in “Tygodnik Powszechny” and “Przekrój”, as well as the novels Zły and Życie towarzyskie i uczuciowe – and an exploration, at least in part, of the mechanisms through which the would-be architect evokes the “spirit of the city”. The study is informed by Ben Anderson’s concept of affective atmosphere and supplemented by references to Elżbieta Rybicka’s geopoetics, Aleksandra Wójtowicz’s architectural literary studies, and research in architectural theory. This perspective allows to understand how the experience of “being” in space and the imagination of the homo architectonicus permeated Tyrmand’s language. At the same time, it aligns with current scholarly approaches while extending them to include Tyrmand’s work, which has so far been marginally considered in this context.; W felietonie Lesseps życzliwy Warszawie Leopold Tyrmand zaproponował figurę „duszy miasta”.

<description>O miejscu poezji w antologii Explorations in Freedom pod redakcją Leopolda Tyrmanda (1970)
Osiński, Jakub
This article presents findings related to the anthology Explorations in Freedom: Prose, Narrative, and Poetry from ‘Kultura’, edited by Leopold Tyrmand in 1970, published by The Free Press in collaboration with The State University of New York at Albany and the London-based publisher Collier Macmillan Limited. Drawing on unpublished correspondence between the writer and Jerzy Giedroyc (held in the archives of the Instytut Literacki [The Literary Institute] in Le Mesnil-le-Roi, France), the author discusses the background of this publication’s creation. The focus is placed on the poetic works included in the anthology, authored by Kazimierz Wierzyński, Wacław Iwaniuk, Józef Łobodowski, Czesław Miłosz, Josif Brodsky, Adam Czerniawski, and Bogdan Czaykowski. The paper addresses the origins of the idea to include poetry in the projected volume, the selection of authors and translators, as well as the choice of poems. These findings illustrate the development of the relationship and collaboration between Tyrmand and Giedroyc – from their initial enthusiasm to the eventual rupture of their professional ties.; W artykule zostały zaprezentowane ustalenia dotyczące zawartości antologii Explorations in Freedom. Prose, Narrative, and Poetry from ‘Kultura’ pod redakcją Leopolda Tyrmanda, wydanej w 1970 roku przez The Free Press we współpracy z The State University of New York at Albany oraz londyńską oficyną Collier Macmillan Limited.
