The subject of interest is narrowed to Polish language education with special accent on forming reader’s competences and promoting reading in secondary school among students who follow so-called instant culture. Modern Polish language teachers should effectively use internet tools to popularise books and explain that reading is even more interesting form of spending free time than surfing the web. In the internet world of secondary school students, who are focused on quick reception of information by using popular internet browsers, reading matters appear in the form of short cribs and answer-keys. Therefore the role of Polish language teachers is to use internet tools to popularize books, because reading may be as attractive thing to do in leisure time as browsing internet websites.
