Główne procesy w nominacji za pomocą nazw własnych (w kontekście związków między toponimami i chrematonimami)
Streszczenie
The presentation contains two lines of reasoning and research. The first one is theoretical and concerns the linguistic processes that result in the emergence of proper names (onimic nomination). It is claimed that these processes are translocation and nomination. Translocation is guided by the principles of onimization and transonimization: these are unconnected with derivation and represent “pure” transition of a word from one class of names to another. In this way links between toponyms and chrematonyms are described, the latter being represented here by the names of wholesale/retail businesses and services. The order of the description is correlated with the distinction between transnomination and formally marked cases of language change, i.e. nomination. The search for an answer to the question of how much toponymy there is in chrematonymy leads one to conclude that the onyms under investigation here are “toponymically poor”. These are above all names transferred from one onimic class to another (transnomization); the information that they convey underscores objects with regard to their location, properties and the extent of the activity with which they are associated; the information may also be independent of those factors but subject to the considerations of advertising. Nomination with the use of toponimic elements usually includes rather inconspicuous examples of derivation, as well as composed and abbreviated forms. An innovative aspect is found in citations of toponymic structures, with ludic forms, created for linguistic playfulness.
