International sports rivalry very frequently received political meaning, given by various actors such as political governing bodies, supporters or the athletes themselves. Mostly it was rooted from international antagonisms, that were then transmitted to formally peaceful ground of sport. This was most typical in the Cold War era, when the political tensions were increased. Different forms of politics on sport were indicated in the article, such as politically motivated sports rivalry, desire to participate in international sport by the states, organizing sports events, sports boycott and terrorism concerning sports events. After that, an overview of selected films showing various types of sports and politics colliding was made, both documentary and fictional. The aim of the article was to answer the research question: what aspects of politics of sport are becoming the subject of movies and why.pl_PL
