Sztuka audiodeskrypcji – audiodeskrypcja sztuki – koncepcja nowej metody z zakresu upowszechniania sztuk wizualnych
Streszczenie
Audio Description (AD) of the works of art is the field of usable practice for the museum management, which by method of trial and error attempts to adapt the artistic means to the perceptive possibilities of the visitors who are blind or vision impaired.
In Academic Year 2013–2014 I conducted an elective academic course relating to Audio Description of Visual Art. Classes are designed to last the third year of undergraduate studies in the field of art history. The course is carried out by project-based learning (PBL) method.
It is important to emphasize that project-based learning techniques are long-term, interdisciplinary and student-centered activities. Unlike traditional, teacher-led classroom activities, students must often organize their own work and manage their own time. Project-based instruction differs from traditional inquiry by its emphasis on students’collaborative or individual artifact construction to represent what is being learned. Additionally project-based learning also gives students the opportunity to explore problems and challenges that have real-world applications, increasing the possibility of long-term retention of skills and concepts.
The Audio Description course is also an attempt to broaden the range of programs at the undergraduate level through the creation of additional practical competencies for the participants. At the same time the concept of the course meets the needs expressed by museums which collect works of art in the broader disseminated collections.
