Abstract

Demonologia Pierre’a Crespeta pt. "Dwie księgi o nienawiści Szatana", choć napisana w ortodoksyjnym duchu Świętej Ligi, wyróżnia się oryginalnością w zakresie poszukiwania przyczyn istnienia czarownic i uzasadnienia ich bytu pośród ludzi. Autor tej rozprawy upatruje w nienawiści przesłanek zaistnienia czarownictwa, bada jej genezę i naturę. Główną jego bohaterką jest czarownica, stara melancholijna kobieta. To właśnie ona, wybranka Lucyfera, posiada nieograniczone, choć paradoksalne możliwości, już to rzucenia uroku, już to zdjęcia go, w zależności od intencji. Ta podwójna natura czarownicy jest również pretekstem do utożsamienia jej z przedstawicielami ówczesnej medycyny ludowej (zielarek i znachorek), która była potępiana nie tylko przez medycynę uniwersytecką, ale również i przez instytucje kościelne. Moralny wybór tym samym nie należał do najprostszych: potrzebujący pacjent w imię ortodoksyjnej nauki kościoła albo ryzykował własne zdrowie lub nawet i życie, albo tracił zbawienie duszy, jeśli godził się na czarcią farmakopeję wyklętych czarownic. Artykuł pokazuje paradoksy w literackiej konstrukcji czarownicy i podkreśla autorytet mówiącego kaznodziei.

The demonological moral discourse, "Deux Livres de la Haine", written in the orthodox spirit of the Holy League, bears the marks of overt originality and stands out in terms of seeking the causes of the existence of witches and explain of their being among the people. The author of this book sees in hate reasons of witchcraft, and analyzes it origin and nature. The main character is a witch, old melancholy woman. She, chosen by Lucifer, has unlimited paradoxical possibilities, can cast or remove charms, depending on her intentions. This dual nature of witch is also pretext to identify her with the representatives of the then popular medicine (mainly herbalists and healer), which was condemned not only by representatives of the university medicine, but also by church institutions. The moral choice does not belong to simplest: patients in need in the name of the orthodox teachings of the church, were risking their health or even life, losing salvation of the soul, if they agreed to use cursed devil's practice of herbalists and healers. Article shows paradoxes in literary structure of witch highlights the authority of the speaker preacher.
