Podstawy infrastrukturalne i techniczne rolnictwa w województwie skierniewickim
Stolarczyk, Bogdan
The group of basic infrastructural and technical factors affecting development of agriculture is usually considered to include resources of draught force, mineral fertilization, provision of machines for agriculture, electrification of villages and supplying them with water. Resources and structure of draught force in Skierniewice province approach the national average, however, they are characterized with considerable spatial differentiation. Intensity of mineral fertilization is by one third lower than the national average, and dynamics of fertilization is equally low. Due to poor natural conditions of the local agricultural production this situation should be treated as most unfavorable. Agricultural production in this administrative province of Poland continues to show an unsatisfied demand for machinery and equipment. Mechanical services for individual) peasant farms are mainly performed by traditional equipment while modern machines are practically absent. In relation to the number of tractors the number of accompanying equipment appears to be largely insufficient. Electrification of villages has been completed but within the program of modernization farms ore gradually equipped with three-phase installations, which are already available in 80 per cent of farms. Despite full electrification of villages consumption of electric power continues to be low The province suffers from shortage in water supply being a permanent problem for 1.4 thousand forms. The water-supply system has been already constructed in 75 villages and 4.7 thousand farms but the demand is six times as high. Rural communes with good infrastructural and technical conditions to be found in northern and western part of the province while those with poorer conditions in central and western part.

Natural conditions in Skierniewice province are rather unfavorable for highly effective agricultural production. The 11- agitating factors include low precipitation amounts (table 2), and especially in the period of intensive plant growth along with a big share of soils belonging to low bonitation classes 'over 60 per cent), which are poor in nutritious components by their nature and suffer periodically or permanently from lack of humidity. It is most noticeable in central and central-south em regions of the administrative province where crops are below the national average. Simultaneously the province is poor in surface waters with agricultural storage reservoirs being absent. An important factor impeding modernization and intensification of plant production, and especially in animal breeding, is insufficient supply of rural farms with water. In the spatial structure of the province the index of quality agricultural production space is largely differentiated fig. 2 . Areas situated in Kutno Plain and in the eastern part of the Lowioz-Btonie Lowland are most favorable for agriculture. Considerable fodder reserves are to be found in today quite neglected green lands in the valley of the Bzura and its tributaries, which are ameliorated in only 18 per cent. The areas adjoining the Rawka river valley, and especially In its upper run are less useful for agriculture. Prevailing poor, usually rye-and potato soils reveal a low level of the agro-culture.

To delimitate agrodemographic regions in Skierniewice administrative
province there was performed a correlation analysis on
11 factors, which characterize the demographic structure of population
employed peasant sector of agriculture peasant holdings,
mechanization, density of cattle and pigs. Correlation of characteristic
features was based on Pearson a correlation coefficient.
The performed computations reveal a dose, and direct correlation
between selected characteristics and their substitutional character
production factors. After performing standardization
of each characteristic in analyzed spatial unit
there were normalized values contained in the + 4 bracket.
Sum of normalized values of characteristics for each rural
commune provided a basis for delimitation of agrodemographic
regions presented on Figure 1
